Featured is a genuine Arizona Peridot. Peridot does occur elsewhere in Arizona, but the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation is the leading source for peridot sold as rough and finished gems worldwide. Peridot, is the purest form of the mineral olivine. The gem can vary in color from a bright yellow-green to dark green or greenish-brown. The largest gems are often found within basalt flows or in nearby washes. Peridot can be found in other places on the earth.
