Featured is a genuine Ametrine. Ametrine is the name used when a single crystal of quartz has zones of gemstone quality amethyst (purple) and gemstone quality citrine (golden) in contact with one another. The words AMEthyst and ciTRINE were combined to yield ametrine. The "color split" varies from gemstone to gemstone from 90%/10% to the most sought after 50%/50%. Ametrine comes from a few places including Bolivia and Brazil. This particular gemstone has a rich 50%/50% split color and the color is untreated and all natural.
