Featured is a genuine natural ruby. Ruby is a corundum mineral. Ruby can be found in very limited places on the earth and can be light red to dark red in color. Most common inexpensive ruby is very opaque, while the most sought after material is near translucent. This particular gemstone is from Thailand and has a deep cherry red color typical of this location. It is translucent with slight natural inclusions, that give it a darker warm blood-red color.
