The butte area is privately owned and not open to the public. Oregon Opal is know as a "fire opal" with color shades of red, orange, yellow, blue and clear and the gem material is translucent. This particular thumbnail specimen displays a solid even medium tan caramel body, with the reverse side displaying a slight orange and pink color. This thumbnail specimen comes with the 1.25" acrylic box case. Pictured is the actual gemstone being offered. PHOTOS ENLARGED TO SHOW DETAIL
