Featured is a genuine Demantoid Garnet. Demantoid is the green gemstone variety of the mineral andradite, a member of the garnet group of minerals. Andradite is a calcium- and iron-rich garnet, with chromium substitution as the cause of the demantoid green color. These particular gemstones have a deep rich green color, with visible “cubic” structure on some. This specimen was intentionally “shaped” on each side, so you could see the internal structure of the crystal. The origin of this specimen is Iran.
