They are almost clear (or slight orange) when made into cabochons and are renowned for their incedible play of color, including yellows, oranges, blues and reds, all inside a near clear gemstone. The color fire in an Ethiopian Opal is best brought out, when held against a darker background. It is expected to increase in value as supply becomes scares.
